Coin-op Classic Q*bert Goes @!#?@! Mobile

In celebration of his starring role in the Pixels movie, Q*bert is appearing in a free-to-play mobile version of Q*bert: Rebooted. The game is available today for both iPhone and iPad devices followed by Android versions in the coming weeks. Q*bert: Rebooted is also offered on the Steam Platform, PlayStation PS4/PS3/Vita and Google TV.

Now fully optimized for touch controls, the isometric platform puzzle game featuring everyone’s favorite grawlix-spouting hero is available in both a pixel-perfect classic 2D version and a re-imagined ‘Rebooted’ version with state-of-the-art 3D graphics and game play that features additional characters and achievements while staying true to the spirit of the original concept. Both iterations are exciting ‘twitch’ games requiring keen puzzle solving skills and logic.

“Over the last year we have released Q*bert: Rebooted on various platforms except Mobile, which we’ve always felt was a natural fit for the game in terms of audience and play mechanics,” stated Jamie Ottilie, co-founder and CEO of Galaxy Pest Control. “Today I am delighted to announce that, together with the theatrical release of the Pixels movie, we are also releasing Q*bert in the Apple App Store.”

First introduced in 1982 by Gottlieb & Co. Q*bert was critically-acclaimed and went on to become the one of the most successful arcade games of all time. It inspired home versions, a variety of Q*bert merchandise, and even an animated TV series.

Q*bert Rebooted takes the arcade classic and catapults it into the 21st century 3D game play that takes full advantage of today’s technologies yet remains faithful to the original Q*bert. As the title character, players jump around an isometric cube pyramid and convert each block’s color while avoiding familiar adversaries Coily, Ugg, Slick, Sam, Wrong Way and Red Ball. Levels become progressively harder with more enemies blocking your path and the tiles requiring multiple jumps to change to the required color. Featuring hexagonal blocks instead of squares, Q*bert Rebooted introduces new enemies, playable characters, power-ups, traps, gem collecting and characters, and new ways to play

Q*bert Rebooted highlights:
•2 Fun Play Modes, Classic Arcade and Q*bert Rebooted!
•Coily and the rest of the crew are back with 3 New Enemies :- Homer, Uppercut and Treasure Chest
•30+ New Levels in 3D Rebooted Mode
•Earn Crazy Q*bert Variants like Q*zilla, Q*bot, Q*knight and more
•In game advertising opt out for $.99

“Our goal has always been to take Q*bert to as many platforms as possible, and today we are going mobile on iOS with Android set to follow soon after” added Robert van Gool, co-founder and President of Gonzo Games.

Q*bert: Rebooted is a collaboration between Galaxy Pest Control; its publishing label Sideline Amusements, Gonzo Games; LOOT Interactive and Sony Pictures Consumer Products.
