A new 90s-style retro controller for Xbox One is set to be released in Europe.
Created by the Los Angeles-based video game hardware developer, Hyperkin, the X91 is officially licensed by Microsoft, and easily fits in your palms with every button accessible at a twitch’s length – perfect for any nostalgic gaming session.
Jesse Aragon, an engineer in Hyperkin’s R&D team who helped develop the product feels the X91 caters to a diverse group of Xbox One owners.
“Hyperkin Labs has included the best of two worlds: throwback gaming mixed with competitive build quality,” Aragon said. “Our goal for the controller was to bring back the form factor we grew up with and modernize it for the hottest games on Xbox One.”
Andy Pearson, Head of Marketing (Hardware and Tech) at distributors PQube, said:
“We’re delighted to be able to bring the X91 to Europe. Not only does it’s retro design remind us of how much fun it was playing 16 and 32-bit games, it’s premium build makes it feel like an essential piece of kit for any committed gamer.”
The X91 is compatible with Windows 10 PCs and tablets via USB. Its modern features include precision analog triggers, which sit comfortably behind the shoulder buttons, and a 3.5 mm headset jack. Although the gamepad bears retro design, one touch reveals its modern ergonomics. It’s perfect for any game on Xbox One.
