Rocket Drop VR for Google Cardboard – Out Now for Android

“Rocket Drop VR”, a Google Cardboard port of the mobile game “Rocket Drop”, is now available for Android devices.

“Rocket Drop” is back, in a special VR edition for use with the Google Cardboard device.

Those familiar with the original Rocket Drop will know what to expect. It’s an endless, first-person, score-attack skydiving game, where you can fly short distances via the use of a jetpack. The jetpack requires constant fuel, which you can gain by collecting fuel capsules as you fall. Meanwhile, you also need to dodge the missiles that are constantly being fired at you!

The VR edition takes the original gameplay and pushes it one step further. Using a Google Cardboard kit, you can view the world in 360 degrees with gyroscopic head tracking. Also, you can hold the button on the Cardboard device to effectively use your head as a joystick, allowing you to move within the game environment.

“The most impressive and awe inspiring application of Google Cardboard in a video game to date.”

“This is, without a doubt, the highest quality Google Cardboard/Dive app that’s come out. Play it in a spinning office chair, with your phone charged well so you don’t need to be tethered. Wheeeee!”
– Max Pittsley (user review from Google Play)
