Indie game studio Shiver Games is excited to announce Lucius II: The Prophecy, a sequel to the gory adventure game Lucius, scheduled for release in early 2015 on Steam. A new teaser trailer has been released on YouTube, eerily foretelling what’s to come:
Shiver Games has been developing Lucius II: The Prophecy for almost two years, ever since the release of Lucius. The gameplay and feel of Lucius II has been improved by adding features many felt were missing, while still respecting the humorous and shocking integrity of the original game. “The main goal has been to add more freedom and to deliver a sandbox-type setting for the murderous kid – Be ready to use your creativity for inflicting pain and suffering, because this time the restrictions are gone and the sins have multiplied!” said Johannes Aikio of Shiver Games.
The story of Lucius II continues where the original left off: Lucius emerges as the lone survivor of the burning wreckage his parents once called home, unscathed from the ruthless slaughter he had unleashed.
He had taken the weak and punished the wicked. He had looked through their souls and found the true selves they had been hiding.
Lucius is taken to the psychiatric ward of St. Benedict’s Hospital by unsuspecting caretakers. The Book of Revelations predicts the birth of a child that would end up ruling the world with an iron rod. The first part of this prophecy has been fulfilled. It is time to take care of the rest. Whispers of a prophecy find their way to the boy’s ears. Lucius decides to act again to regain his powers. But little does he know of his new adversaries…
