UnderDread takes place in the early 18th century. Your daughter Lisa and you are travelling on a carriage when fatigue and weariness makes you stop for the night. You decide to stay at a local tavern overlooking what appears to be a beautiful nearby castle surrounded by wonderful meadows. A seeming less calm night turns to terror the next morning as you awake to discover Lisa has gone missing from her room. Her disappearance is a complete mystery and your efforts to uncover her whereabouts are in vain. Clues from locals point to the castle and with little hope left, you travel to the mysterious destination determined to find your daughter alive…
UnderDread is a single-player horror adventure challenging you to explore the ruined catacombs of an ancient castle. Offering an exciting blend of horror, quest and adventure, the story unravels as it becomes clear other children have disappeared as well. Notes left behind from a detective gone missing, and notes from a local researcher who also vanished will help you on your quest. Your task is to piece together the puzzle and solve the mysterious disappearances if you can. The castle is full of dark secrets and dangerous monsters, and only by solving tricky puzzles and by avoiding treacherous traps will you discover ways to progress.
Who lived at the castle? Why did they leave? What happened to the missing children, and can you trust the notes left behind? What appears to be a wonderful castle from the outside turns out to be a house of horrors on the inside. Your actions will determine the destiny of Lisa… where is she?
