‘Table Tennis Touch’ launches on Android

Yakuto have announced the worldwide Android launch of their breakout iOS hit ‘Table Tennis Touch’. To coincide with this release, Yakuto will be taking ‘Table Tennis Touch’ to London’s ‘EGX Rezzed’ this week. As part of BAFTA’s ‘Inside Games Arcade’, ‘Table Tennis Touch’ will be playable over the three days of the games event and the developers from Yakuto will be showing off some of the new features coming out later in the year.

With its stunning graphics, epic career mode, high-speed gameplay and intuitive touch controls, ‘Table Tennis Touch’ is the most realistic table tennis experience on mobile. Nominated for a number of awards in 2015 including an IMGA for ‘Excellence in Gameplay’, Yakuto will be bringing a feature-rich multiplayer update to all platforms later in the year.

Made over the course of five years, Table Tennis Touch began life in 2009 as an after-work project for former table tennis national player, Jordan Kirk. In 2012, he was joined by coder James Gratton who developed the project full-time for a further two years. Despite no game development experience and a low-key build up that verged on secrecy, the game was selected as ‘Editor’s Choice’ on release on iOS and became the #1 Paid Game in over 25 countries with critics describing it as “the definitive iOS table tennis game” (Pocketgamer) and “the best table tennis game I’ve ever played” (Cult of Mac).

‘Table Tennis Touch’ is now available from the App Store, Play Store and Amazon Appstore for £2.99 / $3.99 / €3.99.
