Underground Cryo-Bunker, Canberra, Australia, March 27 2014 – Uppercut Games today announced the release of their highly anticipated game, EPOCH 2, onto the Google Play Store. Sequel to their hugely popular debut game of 2011, EPOCH 2 combines innovative touch-based controls and action packed gameplay with amazing graphics to bring a AAA experience to the Android platform.
Picking up where the original game left off, players once again take control of the robot guardian, EPOCH, as he treks across a war-ravaged country to find the one person he was programmed to protect: the Princess Amelia. Now he must follow a final, desperate lead to reach her, with the two warring robot armies of Omegatroniks and Alphetekk standing in his way. But what surprises await EPOCH when the Princess is finally located? And what will she make of the world she wakes up to?
“Our Android fans of the original EPOCH have been clamoring for EPOCH 2,” said Uppercut Games co-founder Ed Orman. “We’re thrilled to finally be able to deliver it!”
Extending EPOCH’s combat systems, EPOCH 2 adds dynamic player and camera movement, and a massively expanded field of play. Dramatic moving levels see the player swinging from ledges, riding moving trains and elevators, as well as fighting from moving cargo barges. New abilities – the decisive Smackdown attack, the deadly Melee struggles and a brand new Fast Reload system – combine with new equipment to create a smorgasbord of new strategies to learn and master.
Multiple new boss encounters, each with a unique set of abilities, and two new modes – Time Trial and Iron Mode – bring new challenges to a campaign that guarantee players will be coming back for more.
Pushing AAA blockbuster quality for mobile, EPOCH 2 at last brings players face to face with EPOCH 1’s central mystery: the Princess, Amelia. “The power of Android devices means we can deliver an amazingly life-like console-quality character created with truly next-generation technologies, including a photometric scanned character model and extra-high-detail surface textures, performance-captured facial animation and over 20 minutes of voice acting and fully motion-captured cinematic cutscenes.” says Orman “Combined with Epic’s Unreal Engine 3, we’re really able to push the capabilities of latest generation mobile hardware rendering.”
EPOCH 2 is available on the Google Play Store, 50% off for a limited time. You can get it here: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uppercut_games.epoch2
